During an Easter meeting between the churches of Jerusalem at the Latin Patriarchate, the Heads of Churches delivered a series of greetings, in which they spoke of the two disciples journeying on the road to Emmaus: “When they were tired and had no hope after Christ death, the Saviour appeared to them telling them not to be afraid”.

“Easter reminds us that we have to be the church of witness and martyrdom, not the church of comfort" was said in another greeting, and "Middle East Christians are protected by God, so we agree, we are not to have the luxury of fear.”
